Since the last few days, we saw several celebrities such as Taapsee Pannu, Huma Qureshi, Raj Kundra, among others complaining of inflated electricity bills. They took to their social media and tagged the electricity providers questioning the exorbitant bills as compared to their previous months’ bills. The latest celebrity to join the list was Arshad Warsi, who received a massive bill of Rs 1.03 lakh, after which he took to Twitter to slam the electricity providers. The actor and the electricity provider posted angry tweets, which they later deleted after the problem was solved.

Arshad Warsi tweeted that Rs 1.03 lakh was debited from his account on July 5 for the electricity bill, and shared an angry tweet about the same. He wrote, “This is my electricity bill from the highway robbers called ADANI, who is having a good laugh at our cost. UPDATE: INR 1,03,564.00 debited from A/c on 05-JUL-20.." This tweet was shared at 7.50 AM in the morning. A few hours later, the electricity providers replied to his tweet and wrote, “We can understand your concern on the billing issue and are here to help you, but we do not appreciate the personal defamatory remarks and advise you to practice caution."

Another tweet by the electricity providers read, “We will help you understand your consumption and demand that you should delete the tweet with the defamatory remarks. Request you to share your account no with us."
